Old: TPC

old 1

I’ve had this photo sitting in a folder titled “use on blog” for about a year, but I never had a good enough reason to post it. Dutch Goes the Photo’s Tuesday photo challenge–old–finally gave me a reason!

There’s something so beautiful about the way the bright yellow dandelion is growing out of the gap between these two mottled grey-white gravestones. It could be creepy, but I hasten to point out that the cemetery where this stone is located has no graves after about 1900 and most are significantly older. In fact, it’s mainly populated with grave stones of Revolutionary War soldiers and their families. I don’t remember what these stone said, but I’m sure they predated the Civil War–I figure that counts as old.
