This week’s theme, “variations on a theme,” presented so many ways to proceed. I ended up settling on showing you a quilt I made last year for my mother. Her favorite color is blue and she loves floral prints.
I found this line of fabric and from there it was easy. I knew I wanted more blue and white than yellow, and I figured I needed some solid prints in there. It was just a matter of settling on a pattern (I’d had a few in mind). This seemed like an easy pattern that still presented me with a little challenge.
Finally it was a matter of making it. That was time-consuming. And quilting in my little home machine was tough. But when a distant relative, who is a quilter and rather an unpleasant person, was over and told me my points were well done, I figure it was all worth it. Not to mention, my mom loves it–but she’s my mom, so she’s far more biased!
