Lost Hat: WPC

There’s something about lost items that I find interesting to photograph. I’ve got a photo somewhere of a pair of dress shoes sitting on a park bench–with no feet in sight. If I find it, I’ll have to post it here.

In the meantime, while the subject matter isn’t experimental, the processing technique is. I’ve used GIMP to touch up photos and, occasionally, to selectively color black and white photos. But every time I’ve done the latter, I’ve just let the original color shine through the black and white filter.

MTA at Columbus Circle: CB&W

Oh dear, I missed last week’s challenges. I went away for the holiday weekend and it threw off my whole schedule. Anyway, I’m back!

I’m still experimenting with selective colorization in my black and white photos (my first attempt was reasonably successful). I’ve downloaded GIMP and have been slowly learning it over the last month.

Ruins on the Hudson: CB&W

This week’s black and white photo challenge had an interesting theme: natural ground. I realized most of my photos don’t prominently feature the ground. I suppose that’s because many of my photos are of my food, are macro, or are in NYC–where natural ground is a bit scarce.
